Wolverine 3 : Will we see the return of Sabretooth ?

Wolverine 3 will mark an end of an era as it will also be the last time Hugh Jackman dons the role of the indestructible Wolverine. Fox have already successfully managed to reboot Deadpool which had been previously disastrously adapted in another film without recasting the role. So, given the fact that the X-Men origins: Wolverine was not a fan favorite, Fox could do the same with the upcoming Wolverine 3 by bringing back an old character like Sabretooth played by Liev Schreiber.

Schreiber, like Ryan Reynolds, was not the issue in the movie. He perfectly suited the character of Sabretooth but the movie around it just was not good enough. He, along with damn near every other actor and actress existing were at the Academy Awards. While Henry Cavill was tightlipped when asked about Batman v Superman and Justice League, Liev Schreiber was a tad more forthcoming. The actor, who celebrated in Spotlight’s Best Picture win confirmed that there have indeed been discussions over Wolverine 3.

He had the following to say to MTV:

We talked about it. I don’t know. He’s mentioned it to me. The Old Man Logan story — that’s appealing. That’s something that I can do. Old, being the operative word.

Wolverine 3 will take its inspiration from the Old Man Logan graphic novel. Nothing much has been talked about the plot other than Hugh Jackman teasing the adaptation of Old Man Logan story-line for Wolverine 3 at the San Diego Comic Con. One of the problems that will be faced in making the movie is that Fox does not have rights over many characters portrayed in this storyline. The rights of these characters are owned by Marvel, therefore it is unclear as to how they will deal with this issue.

Wolverine 3, which is still awaiting an official title, is scheduled for release on March 3, 2017.
