Will we see Deadpool and X-Men crossover?
Marvel Cinematic Universe has already put their iconic characters together on the table in the form of The Avengers, DC is also likely to follow suit with the upcoming Justice League. Director Bryan Singer, who has been overseeing Marvel’s mutants on the big screen for the better part of 16 years and has made a revelation that he can see the Merc with a mouth (Deadpool) teaming up with X-Men on the big screen. In Just a few weeks, the X-Men: Apocalypse will hit theaters, and in light of the success of Fox’s last superhero movie Deadpool, we’re already anticipating its success.
In an interview with Variety, Bryan Singer talks up the potential of Deadpool joining the X-Men in a somewhat more substantial role. “It’s every bit as large,” Singer said of the world, which has so far encompassed nine films. “And now that we’ve altered the timeline [with 2014’s ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’], there are endless possibilities.” Then he went to talk about how Deadpool would possibly feature in X-Men “If you take a character as irreverent and meta as Deadpool and connect him to something as grounded and serious as X-Men, you have to do it carefully and gently. When you drop them all in together it can be a disaster. That has to be done delicately, but there’s plenty of room to do it.”
The X-Force movie is one of the ways to bring most of these characters together as a few of the characters from X-Men Apocalypse appear in the original X-Force team and Cable is set to appear in Deadpool 2, also known as the founder of the team. So, the signs seem promising and hopefully we can get to see Fox Studios reply to the Avengers and The Justice League really soon. Considering Deadpool brought in over $761 million in box office sales on a $58 million budget, I’m sure Fox is eager to have Wade Wilson work alongside the X-Men when the time is right.
