The Fall of Fantastic 4

The all new Fantastic four is set to release on 7th August 2015, and it is time for me to give you a preview and what to expect from the movie. The trailer like any other movie looks amazing and we all hope that this Fantastic Four is better than the 2005 Fantastic Four movie series, which to say quite frankly did not live up to the hype.

This movie will be the origin movie of the Fantastic Four, and show the audience one or two mainstream villains, who have been a pain to deal for the Fantastic Four. The movie is based on Ultimate Fantastic Four title created by Brain Michael Bendis, Mark Millar and Adam Kubert. The synopsis of the movie is revealed by Marvel and is as follows:

“When four people teleport to an alternate universe, which alters their physical form and grants them new abilities, they must learn to harness their abilities and work together as a team to save the Earth from a familiar enemy.”

‘The familiar enemy’ talked about in the synopsis of the movie is none other than Doctor Doom played by Toby Kebbell. Doom has a gifted intellect and is a scientific genius and is known for stealing powers of other super beings. Doctor Doom can exert a technopathic control over certain machines known as Doom Bots, which we are likely to see in the movie.

Doctor Doom’s source of power is his armor which takes his power to super human levels.  Also another character worth mentioning is Harvey Elder played by Tim Blake Nelson. In the comics, Harvey Elder is known to be a villain by the name of Mole Man. Mole Man has no super human abilities but he is an extraordinary genius, with knowledge of technology centuries beyond conventional science. The movie will most likely show the origin of Mole Man too.

With rumors that Marvel was considering shutting out characters that they didn’t own the movie rights gained some credibility with the lack of Days of Future Past merchandise, and in recent months the evidence has continued to compile. Marvel started ramping down on Fantastic Four comics, eventually canceling them all together earlier this year. The Fantastic Four merchandise and comics were never really big sellers for Marvel, unlike various X-Men titles; however, they too are in danger. Therefore, there is an added pressure on this movie be a hit if it is to have further sequels otherwise Fox Studios will shut down the movie franchise after all.
