Tom Hiddleston has been low key about the future of Loki and whether Thor: Ragnarok will be the last movie the fan favorite villain will be seen. In the most recent interview with MTV, he has emphasized that he is unsure about the role of Loki in the upcoming Marvel movies. In spite of talk not that long ago that Loki was popular enough to support his own solo Marvel movie, actor Tom Hiddleston says he’s never quite sure after wrapping one project whether it will be the last time fans want to see him don the green costume.
Over the past few years, Superhero movies have become mainstream action packed movies that have a wide global reach. The viewers have become fans of some of the villains displayed in such movies. Heath Ledger’s Joker is loved by many and when the first part of Avengers released, Tom Hiddleston’s Loki didn’t take much time to become a fan favorite. “I never quite know whether people want to see him again or whether people want to move on… I can’t really take the temperature on it.” Tom Hiddleston revealed to MTV news. We will be more than delighted to see Loki don a bigger role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
What’s more, it sure sounds as though Hiddleston’s got a specific plan for keeping both himself and Marvel’s fans interested:
“It feels like, if it even happened again, I would try not to repeat myself…I would try to do something new. I never want to feel like I’m retreading the same steps.”
Loki will definitely try foiling his foster brother Thor’s plans to take the throne of Asgard away from him in Thor: Ragnarok and with Avengers: Infinity War looming, it will be interesting to see whether Marvel plans to dish away the character before Infinity War or carry it after the events of the movie.
