“Tell me, do you bleed? You will.”

It’s been two months since the first teaser of Batman v Superman hit the web. Ever since, all of us have been eagerly waiting for new footage. But with Comic Con finally here, the wait is finally over. In an attempt to affirm their presence especially after Star Wars’ panel, Zack Snyder and his team have showcased a brand new trailer for the film that only makes the wait more unbearable. The trailer opens with Superman’s role in society coming under heavy scrutiny by the government. It is then revealed that Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) was in Metropolis during the final battle between Superman and General Zod, where he witnessed the destruction of an entire city. Knowing that Superman can’t be trusted, Batman decides to take matters into his own hands. The trailer definitely establishes the conflict between the two superheroes. We also get a first look at Jesse Eisenberg and Gal Gadot as Lex Luthor and Wonder Woman respectively! Finally, the trailer comes with another iconic quote :

“20 years in Gotham. How many good guys are left? How many stayed that way? He has the power to wipe out the entire human race. And we have to destroy him.”

After Marvel’s absence from this year’s SDCC, Warner Bros. knew of the opportunity at hand to dominate the event. The Star Wars: The Force Awakens panel came out as a very strong contender which forced Warner Bros. to pull out all the stops. With this new trailer, a first look at the Suicide Squad (Jared Leto killed it ), and panels featuring the cast members of these two films along with the Pan movie and The Man from U.N.C.L.E., the studio certainly delivered. The wait for March 25, 2016 is a long and painful one. But it may just be worth it.
