Recently, there was a leaked concept art from Captain America: Civil War which gave us a glimpse at Team Cap and Team Stark. Although one of the notable absentees from the concept art was Scarlet Witch played by Elizabeth Olsen in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Elizabeth Olsen talked about her role in Captain America: Civil War, while promoting her performance in I Saw the Light at the Toronto International Film Festival.
“She’s doing alright,” she told MTV News. “She’s confused, she’s conflicted. She’s found some people she thinks she connects with, but she’s doing alright. They released images of Team Cap and Team Iron Man. She wasn’t there. She’s always the wild card. I like being the wild card.”
In Avengers: Age of Ultron, she vented her hate for Tony Stark on the Avengers but later she was convinced that Tony Stark is a changed man and ended up joining the Avengers. We also saw a new team of Avengers consisting of War Machine, Vision, Falcon, Scarlet Witch, and Black Widow in the ending moments of the movie. In the comics, Scarlet Witch is with Team Cap but you can expect her to switch teams in the movie.
At the very least, we can anticipate some new tricks from Scarlet Witch when Civil War breaks out on May 6, 2016. We got a preview when she levitated herself down into the hanger at the end of the Avengers sequel.
“It’s not a new hand technique, per se,” Olsen said. “We’re trying to grow her movement as a whole… [Trained dancer] Jenny [White] and I have great pride in trying to make this a huge transformation — the next time we see her — of her abilities.”
