GENERAL ZOD TO MAKE A RETURN IN BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE

Earlier this week, Michael Shannon revealed his possible return in Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice. There have been a large number of rumors suggesting that the Man of Steel Villain General Zod will return as Doomsday.

Michael Shannon dropped hints about his transformation “I was in my costume, and I couldn’t use my fingers because in the sequel I have flippers instead of hands. So I had these wax flippers on my fingers, and I couldn’t open the door, and I could hear Zack Snyder being like, ‘Where’s Shannon? Where the f*ck is he?’ and the whole crew was standing around. I was like, knocking on the door with my flippers, ‘Let me out of here!’”  But is he really going to return as a mindless weapon of destruction hell-bent on destroying Superman?

General Zod as Doomsday

In Man of Steel, it was shown that the children of Kryptonians are genetically engineered to make them a more efficient race. Kryptonians follow a certain Guild from which they are chosen from and grown at birth. The Guilds are the Warrior Guild, Thinker Guild, Mediator Guild, Artisan Guild and the Laborer Guild. As we all know Zod, Faoroa and etc. belong to the Warrior Guild in which they were bred to be Kryptonian warriors that serve Krypton. General Zod is the warrior guild.

This warrior bred Kryptonians have Doomsday genome due to Betron experiments on all Kryptonian warriors. This also explains the invulnerability of General Zod. So, when Lex Luthor resurrects General Zod, he will only remember Man of Steel killing him and would want his revenge. The “flippers” could be some form of motion capture gear so that Shannon can portray a CGI Doomsday.

General Zod as King Shark

Mix and matches have made us believe that General Zod could return from the dead as King Shark. The Heroic Hollywood reported that Aquaman is being held captive by Amanda Waller. Lex Luthor hands over Aquaman to Amanda Waller to be held captive in her maximum security prison. In the trailer for Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Lex Luthor gets his hand on Kryptonite. So the question arises that if he already has kryptonite then why does he need to create a mindless killing machine bent upon killing Superman?

The basis on which he gets to experiment on General Zod is to keep checks on the power of Superman. Why would he create a monster which he can’t control? All these questions reduce the chances of transforming General Zod into Doomsday. Instead, Lex Luthor might use the genetics of Aquaman to create King Shark.

The above-given theories are just what we think might happen. There is a vast number of theories but these two are the most convincing ones. So let’s see how DC meddles with the character of General Zod. All we know is that he is going to return bigger and possibly with “flippers”.
