The Avengers reassemble

Marvel’s new Avengers #1 by Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto arrived on Wednesday, November 4, kicking off a new era as a fresh team assembles in the wake of Armageddon (Marvel’s full list of this week’s releases). Issue #2 continues the story in December with a stack of variants (December solicitations), and its FOC is Monday.
DC sends three hits back to press
Readers are loving DC’s new books. The Demon #1 and Jonah Hex and the Shadow of Death #1 are both getting second printings on December 2, and Absolute Batman: Ark M #1 is going back for a fourth printing on December 16, just ahead of Absolute Batman: Beyond Ark-M #1 (AIPT, Graphic Policy).

Mirka Andolfo returns to Woodsburgh

Merciless is a four-issue supernatural horror sequel to Mercy, written by Mirka Andolfo with art by Lidia Bolognini. It picks up 15 years later in the town of Woodsburgh, and issue #1 arrives December 2 with a gorgeous range of variants (ICv2, Image Comics). FOC is Monday.
Hellboy goes to the Devil’s funeral

Mike Mignola is back in Hell. Hellboy in Hell: Parade of Horrors is a two-issue event in which Hellboy goes looking for a drink and ends up witnessing a procession for Satan’s funeral. Mignola writes, Márk László draws, Dave Stewart colours and Clem Robins letters, and the story is set between chapters of the original Hellboy in Hell. Issue #1 is due December 16 (Dark Horse).
Black Widow gets the Black, White & Red treatment

Marvel’s anthology line turns to the Red Room. Black Widow: Black, White & Red Room is a four-issue series starring Natasha Romanoff, Yelena Belova and more of the Red Room’s graduates, with three stories in every issue. Issue #1 lands December 16 (AIPT).
